Well’s Fargo: Ron Miller Wealth Management | Decatur, IL | Commercial Photography

Monday, January 16th, 2012

I was really excited when Abby from Wells Fargo in Decatur called to ask me if I could do some photos for a billboard they were planning on putting together! This will be the first time one of my photographs has appeared on a billboard and I’ll admit – I’m pretty excited about it!

Unfortunately the day we scheduled to do their photos was also the snowiest day we’ve had so far this winter. But they were troopers and met me at the studio in spite of the chill and the slushy and icy roads. Needless to say I was thrilled that we were able to use my newly remodeled studio space for their session. Having the white walls made for a clean and simple backdrop that should suite their billboard needs very well.

And I couldn’t have asked for better models! They all looked so sharp in their nice dress clothes and they are honestly some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met! Well without further ado – meet Abby, Larry, Ron, and Roxy! :)

So I thought I’d give you a quick little tour of their new hair salon. First of all – check out these awesome red doors and their very cool logo! Love it!

It never seems like their’s down time here! The girls are always working and loving their jobs and taking amazing care of their clients! I know when I first came in they offered me a drink as I was escorted over to the waiting room until Molly was ready for me.

Decatur Character Shoot | Decatur, IL | Commercial Photography

Friday, October 7th, 2011

It’s been almost a month ago now that I was asked to come over to Hendricks & Carr and take pictures of some historical figures for the Decatur Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. Jeff Hendricks is a very dear friend of mine and I was thrilled to see him again and help him out with these photos. It was so fun to see everyone in their costumes. I think Jeff is planning on using the images in presentations and other marketing pieces for public speakers like “Abraham Lincoln.” So enjoy these fun pics! :)

Timberlake Senior Living | Springfield, IL | Commercial Photography

Monday, September 19th, 2011

Last week, I was invited out to Springfield to take some marketing photos for Timberlake Senior Living Center. I had never been to their facility before, but had briefly visited their website and I was really curious to actually see their facility in person. So I thought I might give you a virtual tour…

When you pull into Empowerment Road this is the building that you will see:

Timberlake Estates1

Isn’t it beautiful! It’s really large too and has lots of natural light coming in through all those amazing windows. There is also this nice little side porch area out front with rocking chairs

Timberlake Estates2

Timberlake Estates3

The even have fresh homemade lemonade everyday. How sweet is that?

Timberlake Estates4

Now let’s go inside. When you come in through the front doors into the lobby – you get this lovely welcoming little view:

Timberlake Estates5

And if you turn towards your left, there’s this nice little sitting area to read or visit or play a game:

Timberlake Estates6

Timberlake Estates8

Okay now if you walk straight forward when you’re in the lobby, you’ll reach this nice little dining area. It’s kind of a mini sit down restaurant right inside the center.

Timberlake Estates7

Timberlake Estates9

Now if we head out the back doors of the dining room, we exit onto this nice little patio with tables and chairs. This would be a wonderful place to relax and visit especially now that it’s finally started cooling off again.

Timberlake Estates10

Now it’s time to head up to the second floor. But before we look around, check out these awesome views of the lobby and sitting area. See how open they are!

Timberlake Estates11

Timberlake Estates12

Okay so just a couple of things to show you up here. First there’s another little area where you can play games or read books or do puzzles. It’s got tons of natural light too! Just like everywhere else:

Timberlake Estates13

There are also these nice little areas where you can sit down all over the facility. So nice!

Timberlake Estates15

Okay last thing. There is also a nice little kitchenette on the second floor that  people can use:

So there it is. That’s the little virtual tour of Timberlake Senior Living Center. It’s an absolutely beautiful place and the staff were so nice and friendly. Hope you enjoyed this little sneak peek! Have an awesome Monday!

Healthy Cells Magazine | Heartland Rehab & Nursing Center | Decatur, IL

Monday, September 5th, 2011

A couple weeks ago, I was lucky enough to get to work with Becky Arndt of Healthy Cells Magazine again. I so enjoy working with her and meeting all the interesting people who get featured in her magazine, and this month was no exception. I met Becky at Heartland in Decatur, a facility that specializes in rehabilitation, alzheimer’s service, and outpatient therapy. The staff was very friendly and more than willing to show us some of the things they do with their patients their at the center. Here’s a sneak peek into Heartland!

I feel like I need to say a few words about this one. I can’t remember what this machine is called. But basically they put the patient into a harness and attach the harness to a lift. This allows the person to be able to walk more easily without bearing a great deal amount of weight on their own legs. It’s a very cool set up!

So there you have it! A sneak peek into this month’s cover story. You can see the rest of the interesting health articles featured in this month’s Healthy Cell by checking out your local doctor’s office, oil change, restaurant, etc…

Monday, August 29th, 2011

Last week, I was asked to come in to Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes in Decatur, IL and take some headshots for Randy Earl as the new president-elect for the National Funeral Directors Association. Healthy Cells Magazine | American Heart Association & St. John’s Prairie Heart Institute | Springfield, IL

Wednesday, July 6th, 2011

Last week on Friday, I was lucky enough to get to go to St. John’s Prairie Heart Institute in Springfield, IL for Healthy Cells magazine to meet a couple awesome people.

Nancy & Jim 8

Nancy & Jim are awesome! They are brother-in-law & sister-in-law. This past January was Jim’s 75th birthday, and his family decided to throw him a big party at his church’s gymnasium. Jim’s niece was going to do a comedy bit for his party, so Jim went up to the mic to warm the crowd up. When he finished telling his joke – he collapsed. Jim was having a cardiac arrest.

Luckily, his sister-in-law Nancy was there, along with a few other medical professionals – and they were able to revive him by performing CPR and using an AED. It’s been 6 months now and Jim has almost completely recovered from this episode. It’s a wonderful testament to the importance of knowing how to do CPR and use an AED.

Here’s just a few pics we snapped of the two of them:
